April 1, 2014- Opening Day

Tours are given year round by reservation. The Museum opens April 1, 2014

April

Mid April to mid May  – The river herring will begin migrating up from the ocean, along Town Brook  on the way to Billington Sea to spawn.

 

May

May 5th we will mark our 13th Anniversary in Plymouth.

 

June

Christian Heritage Tour – Plymouth – 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Saturday, June 28th. Join Leo Martin,  Dr. Paul Jehle, and Richie Holland, historians and tour guides as they take you and your family on a walk through history to re-discover our Christian heritage. Tour begins at 10:00 am. Reservations are required. For more information call Nancy at 508-747-4544. Space is limited.

 


July-

4th of July- Celebration changed to the 12th

We will be open on the 12th of July but tours will be limited this day due to the parade and other events going on in town. Our 1:30 pm tour will go as usual. We will be doing the Economics of the Pilgrims tour and the Forefathers Monument tour in the morning and in the later part of the day. Call for more information.

 

125th Anniversary Celebration of the National Monument to the Forefathers

July 31- August 2

A three day celebration beginning with a special showing of Monumental Movie, hosted by Marshall Foster,  co-star of the movie, on Thursday July 31st at 7:00 P.M. For more information call 1-800-210-1620.

Friday August 1 – historic tours and seminars regarding the history of the Pilgrims

Friday & Saturday Evenings August 1 & August 2 – “A Venture Almost Desperate” a dramatic presentation by The Academy for the Arts depicting the Pilgrim fathers struggle for religious freedom.

Saturday August 2 – Join leaders from around the country as they present history around the Monument. Followed by a town celebration of:  Our tours will be scheduled for the afternoon only on this day as we participate in this event. Call for information.

Pilgrim Progress –

The first four Friday’s of the month beginning at 6:00pm.Watch as 51 people who represent those who survived the first harsh winter of 1620-21 reenact the Pilgrims going to church. This parade begins at Plymouth Rock as they walk along Water Street, up Leyden Street to Town Square and up to Burial Hill for a church service. Want to play the part of a Pilgrim family? Each year two families will be selected to participate.
